Last Chance Animal Rescue has the highest adoption rate for consecutive 2 quarters at PETsMART stores.
Aquasco, MD Feb. 28 Last Chance Animal Rescue, a 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization that operates in the Washington DC and the Northern Virginia area received recognition when they processed more animal adoptions than any other rescue group that operates out of PETsMART stores Nationwide and Canada for the second quarter in a row.
Last Chance Animal Rescue found homes for more than 4,500 homeless pets in 2004 and since its inception over 11,000 animals have found their new homes. Last Chance Animal Rescue places adoptable animals in 16 different PETsMART adoption centers in the Washington DC area placing between 50 to 150 animals a week.
Cindy Sharpley, the Executive Director of Last Chance Animal Rescue says, It really is the Last Chance these animals have. We rescue animals from shelters with high euthanasia rates. We work together with about 20 humane organizations. The rescued pets are brought to our clinic in Aquasco, MD where they are medically evaluated by our on staff veterinarians. The animals are treated and sterilized and prepared for adoption.
Last Chance Animal Rescue founder and Executive Director Cindy Sharpley, was recently asked to join the Banfield Shelter Advisory Council. At a meeting in Portland, OR, Ms. Sharpley joined PETsMART Charity executives and other leading animal rescue group professionals to discuss how more animals can be saved. Last Chance Animal Rescue looks forward to working with PETsMART Charities and sharing their learning with other groups.
